I get the thought behind this idea! However, as I pondered this idea this morning the truth hit me - if I have been crucified with Christ then I no longer live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20). How can I live today as if it were my last when my last should have long since past? If I have been crucified with Christ I am more like a dead man walking with Jesus than a living man trying to live as if my time was limited. Instead I should be living each day asking my Lord, "Jesus, what would you like to do today? Where would you like to go today? Who would you like to serve today?"
When I begin to live each day like this then I will come to understand more fully the impact He can have in and through me!
Lord, teach me to die to self every day - every moment of every day! Help me live out my life verse - that you would increase more and more as I decrease more every day (Jn.3:30). Use me for your glory and the good of others! I want to be your servant! Amen.
